Brief biography

Tetiana Orlova received the Honorous diploma of M.Sc. in Physics in 2002 from the Volodymyr Dahl East-Ukrainian National University. During 2002-2005 she worked as a post-graduate student at the Physical Engineering Training-and-Research Center, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. At 2005 Tetiana Orlova was promoted to the post of young researcher at the Department of Optical Quantum Electronics of the Institute of Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In those years she studied the features of provitamin D photoisomerization in ordered liquid-crystalline media and the influence of UV-induced transformations of provitamin D dopant on the optical properties and structure of nematic and cholesteric liquid crystals.

In 2007 Tetiana Orlova received her Ph.D. degree (Candidate of Phys.-Math. Sci.) in Molecular and Liquid Crystal Physics from the Institute of Physics. Since 2008 Tetiana Orlova is a scientific researcher at the Department of Optical Quantum Electronics. She has got strong experience in different kinds of experimental and numerical methods in provitamin D photochemistry, bioactivity and dosimetry of UV radiation, and in physics of liquid crystals.

During 2003-2010 years she has participated at two long-term STCU projects: Gr0-50(j) in 2003-2005, and P344 in 2007-2010.

In 2011 she was awarded by Personal mobility grant under the YGGDRASIL mobility programme from the Norwegian Research Council. During six months she worked as a visiting researcher at the Biophysics and PDT Group, Departament of Radiation Biology, Institute for Cancer research, Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo University Hospital.

In 2013 she was awarded by BMU-MID grant. According to this, she held a post-doc position at the Singular Optics & Liquid Crystals Group, Laboratoire Ondes et Matière d'Aquitaine, University Bordeaux, France, starting from October 2013 till July 2014.
