Kiev Invest Forum

On 26th of September 2017 the Coordinator of the Consortium EEN- Ukraine Fesenko Olena took an active part in the Kiev Invest Forum . She made an oral presentation about the EEN-Ukraine Consortium and the COSME program and was the Moderator of Section 1: “Kyiv Islands. Opportunities for investors”. The main focus of the forum was on investment opportunities for the development of the Kiev islands as places of recreation and sports, reconstruction of the historical part of the Podil, the investment potential of the city as a place for business tourism, film industry, etc.

Kyiv Investment Forum was held at Parkovsky exhibition and conference center. Kyiv Investment Forum is an annual international event, the main purpose of which is to attract investments for the development of the city.

This year, the Kyiv Investment Forum focused on future building plans for Kyiv and attracting investment in tourism infrastructure.

The city authorities presented to the international and Ukrainian business community the priorities of the city's development, as well as investment projects that have fostered the orientation of Kyiv towards international tourism and international cooperation.

The event was attended by about 500 representatives of the business sector, the investment community, authorities, media, and so on. The forum is aimed at bringing together business, municipal and potential investors for joint projects.

The EEN-Ukraine Coordinator communicated to the audience with information about the possibilities of the COSME program in the field of tourism, in particular on the European Inclusive Networks for CCIS Tourism. This program focuses on strengthening cross-sectoral cooperation between relevant organizations in several ways:

  • Mapping the relevant initiatives and actors;
  • Organising a limited number of networking activities, workshops, study visits, events to enable learning, exchange of knowledge and good practice, including on leveraging public funds and private investment.
  • Establishing cooperation with the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).

Supporting a number of innovative start-ups and SMEs will be made through the creation of an EU incubator (either in a single location or consisted by a network of local incubators). This support may come in particular through:

  • Organising collaborative workshops, mentoring, individual and group coaching, exchanges of entrepreneurs and other forms of support in various areas (such as finance and accounting, marketing, intellectual property management), competition for the most successful business idea, etc.;
  • Facilitating technical support (e.g. providing physical space, means and resources);
  • Supporting proofs of concept and prototypes of new products and services;
  • Facilitating contacts with investors and business opportunities;
  • Organising events to promote the selected start-ups and SMEs.
