Strategic meeting of the Innovation development in Ukraine

On 21th of July Olena Fesenko, the Coordinator of the Consortium EEN-Ukraine participated in the strategic meeting on "Innovation development in Ukraine", which was held in the Ukrainian Institute for the Future in Kiev (Ukraine).

The meeting was organized by the Reforms Delivery Office Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Ukraine Investment Promotion Office in association with the Innovations Development Platform. The event was moderated by Georges Massoud, Managing Partner McKinsey & Company. The participants were divided for groups and discussed following topics: possible vision of the innovation development in Ukraine; key barriers and drivers for innovation; financial instruments, sources and ways to support and foster innovations in Ukraine, specific lessons learned from prior (current) attempts and failures in Ukraine to stimulate innovation, the next possible steps (action plan) to improve innovation development in Ukraine.

The main goal of the strategic meeting is to work with the key stakeholders from innovation-driven business, financial companies, research institutions and governmental bodies responsible for innovation to identify the leverage points for enhancing innovative performance and overall competitiveness for Ukraine, define key barriers and drivers for the innovation development and agree on a common vision and the goals of a Ukrainian innovation agenda.

As a results of Strategic meeting of the Innovation development in Ukraine were noted that the national innovation systems approach stresses that the synergistic cooperation between public bodies, companies and R&D institutions are key to the innovation process. Innovation and high value-added economy development are the result of a complex set of relationships among actors in the system who comprise a common vision of innovation development.
