International forum "INNOVATION-2018"

On August 27, 2018, Consortium Enterprise Europe Network-Ukraine (EEN-Ukraine) organized the International forum “INNOVATION-2018”.

The organizers involved in the discussion the representatives of the state executive authorities responsible for the implementation of the innovative way of development of Ukraine, and experts of European technology parks, who presented the best international practices in the development of innovation potential in their countries.

The event consisted of three parts. In the first part, attention was focused on writing an innovation strategy of Ukraine and the exchange of experience between domestic and foreign experts on the construction of the national innovation infrastructure of Ukraine.

The second part concerned the discussion of the best practices of technology parks of France, Lithuania, Sweden, Croatia and Spain from invited representatives.

In the final part of the “INNOVATION-2018” forum there was a start-up competition. Of the 25 candidates, 8 were selected for a speech. By secret ballot, experts from international technology parks identified two winners. The criteria for evaluation were scientificity, innovation, the availability of a prototype and the prospect of product release on the European market.

The first winner was the team of scientists from the Oles Gonchar Dnipro National University, which developed the newest system of insulation for buildings.

The second winner is the Ausweis start-up for secure mobile control of any electric locks or shut-off mechanisms. The two winners of the “INNOVATION-2018” competition, Ausweis and Warm Wall, received travel grants from the EEN-Ukraine consortium to present their technological developments at the largest investment forum “InvestForum-2018” in Magdeburg, Germany on 13 September 2018.
