Prof. Maksym V. Strikha is Ph.D. of Science (Doctor of Physico-mathematical Sciences), writer, expert in Ukrainian interpretation, politician. Since 1983 Mr. Strikha works in the Lashkaryov Institute of Transistor Physics of NAS of Ukraine. He has over 90 published articles and 1 patent for an invention. Mr. Strikha has a book of poems “Sonnets and octaves” published in 1991. He is also a member of editorial boards of a number of magazines.

Giorgi Kvesitadze is PhD, D.Sci, Full Professor, President of Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Director of Durmishidze Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology of Agricultural University of Georgia (DIBBAUG), Member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, Member of the world Academy of Art and Sciences.
He coordinates many prominent S&T activities and initiatives in Georgia in the field of biological, chemical and agricultural sciences. He is an author of about 250 publications and 60 inventions, Member of Editorial Boards of three international Journals, two Journals of Russian Academy of Sciences and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.

"Dark surface plasmon modes coming to light, the history up to 1968"
Prof. Andreas Otto is the inventor of the "Otto configuration", which opened up new possibilities in the study of surface plasmons. He received the Walter Schottky-prize of the German physical society for work "contributing to the understanding of surface specific excitations of solids by the method of attenuated total reflectivity". This method has become important in medical and biochemical analysis. In more recent times his research was focused on Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy of adsorbates on noble metals.

After visiting the Apian-Gymnasium in Ingolstadt, Klar studied physics from 1991 to 1997 at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich and at the University of Edinburgh. 1997-2001 he worked in the reseach group of Stefan Hell at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Goettingen and at the University of Heidelberg, where he in 2001 earned his Ph.D. He helped to confirm experimentally the Hell and Wichmann theories for superresolving fluorescence microscopy. In 2007 he defended his doctor dissertation in experimental physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. From 2007 to 2010 he was a professor at Ilmenau University of Technology and thereafter became a professor of physics at the Johannes-Kepler-University of Linz where he heads the Institute of Applied Physics.

Roderick Melnik is a Canadian-Australian mathematician and scientist, internationally known for his research in applied mathematics, numerical analysis, and mathematical modeling for scientific and engineering applications. Melnik is an expert in computational and applied mathematics with a number of important results in the coupled field theory as applied in physics, biology, and engineering. He is a leading computational analyst, well known for his contributions to the analysis of coupled multiscale phenomena, processes, and systems. His recent significant contributions are in the analysis of mutual influence between quantum and classical effects in complex systems, in particular in the study of coupled effects in low-dimensional nanostructures, as well as in bio-inspired engineering and biological systems.
