 Equipment for characterization of liquid crystal alignment

For estimation of polar anchoring coefficient Wp we use Yokoyama – Van Sprang method modified by Prof. Lavrentovich group [J. Appl. Phys., pp. 4199-4213, Vol. 86, No. 8 (1999)]. By this method estimation of Wp is reduced to measurement of phase retardation as a function of applied voltage.
