Information Day in Kiev for the representatives of Ukraine of small and medium-sized businesses

The EEN-Ukraine Consortium together with the European Commission held an information day in Kiev for the representatives of Ukraine of small and medium-sized businesses on 28 March. The event was held at the Kyiv IQ Business Center. The info day was attended by business representatives, trade experts and representatives of innovative organizations who were interested to find out information about opportunities for entrepreneurs of Ukraine to find business partners in Europe and increase their competitiveness on the EU market.

Participation in the event was free of charge.

During the information day, all participants were given the opportunity to:

  1. Learn about the main goals of the COSME program;
  2. Acquire skills of innovative management;
  3. Learn about the EEN network;
  4. Learn how effectively participate in b2b meetings;
  5. Find potential buyers or suppliers in EEN network and send them partnership offers;
  6. Prepare the company profile for the EEN network;
  7. Participate in question/answer session.

The representatives of the DG EU, Patrick DE-SMEDT told about the priorities of the EU policy for SMEs and Christophe GUICHARD made a short presentation on International SME clusters.

The reports of the leading experts of the EEN-Ukraine Consortium were presented:

  1. Vadim Zagarii, representative of Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. He spoke about COSME, their main purpose; and how to use it. He gave detailed information about the program and its connections with the SME development strategy in Ukraine;
  2. Sergiy Saenko, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, told about COSME and its opportunities to strengthen international cooperation;
  3. Olena Fesenko, Coordinator of the EEN-Ukraine Consortium, told about the activities of the Consortium in Ukraine and its achievements;
  4. Vladyslav Kavelin, representative of the Institute of Physics shared with the audience information about the features of filling profiles in the EEN network;
  5. Yevhen Kurulenko, from Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the opportunities for Ukrainian SMEs to participate in b2b meetings and Company missions;
  6. Olga Shubina, representative of Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the possibilities of the Consortium concerning innovation management;
  7. Dmytro Nosov, representative of Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, spoke about importance of the EEN for the development of export potential was emphasized;
  8. Ivanna Nabius, speaker from New International Corporation, told about an IP helpdesk for SMEs;
  9. Alexander Bedukh presented opportunities of SME instruments subprogram.

The success stories of the EEN-Ukraine Consortium clients were also shown during this info day.

The reports sparked lively discussions in and out of the room and were useful for representatives of innovative enterprises in Kiev.
